Open Mic
conquer the stage
Rules for Rocking the stage!
Who doesn’t love an Open Mic? The courage, the enthusiasm, the fun, the music, the song choices! It’s a big and important part of the festival and that is why we want to make it awesome for everybody! We want to give as many people as possible their moment in the spotlight and have decided on the following rules!
7 minutes – 12 minutes
Every participant or group has got 7 minutes to play their song(s). Don’t worry you have enough time to get on stage and adjust the mic-stand, but your playing/singing should be 7 minutes or under. Make sure you time yourself when you practice!
For the Pre-Party on Thursday night (9. October) we will be offering longer slots of 12 minutes. That should give you about 3 normal length songs to entertain the audience.
Keep your requirements simple
Think about what equipment you need and come to the stage prepared! We will have a music-stand, 3 microphones, cables to plug your uke in or a mic to amplify your uke if you don’t have a pickup! Best to tell us beforehand if you need anything special.
Be respectful
Please be respectful to all participants! That means not just showing up for your own Open Mic spot, but listening to others and cheering them on!
Be on time for your own set! (We will post the list at the event)
Tune your uke!
